The ongoing armed conflict in Yemen has led to the world's largest humanitarian crisis, resulting in the deaths and injuries of thousands of Yemeni civilians. More than 17,500 civilians have been killed and injured since 2015, with a quarter of those casualties being women and children. Over 20 million Yemenis suffer from food insecurity, with 10 million at risk of starvation, and the country's already weak economy has been severely affected.
Children have been particularly affected by the conflict, with over two thousand schools destroyed and two million children deprived of education. Nearly 7.4 million children in Yemen require humanitarian assistance, and the economic situation forces many into insecure labor markets with no legal protections.
